Why buy from Gulf Synthetics

A dealer who actually runs this stuff in salt water

There are a lot of AMSOIL dealer sites. Most of them are a catalog with a phone number attached. This one is built around the equipment that actually lives on the Gulf Coast, and the specific ways that equipment fails when it is lubricated with the wrong thing.

Marine is the specialty

Most dealers treat marine as an afterthought behind motor oil. Here it leads. Outboards, sterndrives, inboards, PWC and the trailer that hauls them.

Built for humidity and salt

Condensation in a crankcase, water past a lower-unit seal, ethanol pulling moisture out of the air in a fuel tank — the Gulf Coast failure modes, addressed specifically.

Ships direct from AMSOIL

You order on AMSOIL.com and AMSOIL INC. fulfills it. No middleman markup, no repackaged product, full manufacturer warranty support.

A real person to call

Bryan Behr answers the phone at 512-554-6817. If you are not sure which product fits your engine, that is exactly the call to make.

Preferred Customer program

Stop paying retail for oil you buy every season

If you change oil in a boat, a truck and a mower, you are already buying enough volume to justify wholesale pricing. A Preferred Customer membership costs $10 for a six-month trial membership or $20 for a full year of membership, and typically pays for itself on the first order.

  • Save up to 25% off retail on every order
  • Free shipping on orders over $100
  • $5 back for every $100 you spend
  • Free membership renewal once you spend $500

Why AMSOIL

Six reasons the price difference is defensible

01

Synthetic base oils, not refined crude

Conventional oil is refined from crude and carries irregular molecules and contaminants that burn off or break down early. AMSOIL synthetic base oils are built to a uniform molecular structure, which is why they resist heat and hold viscosity longer.

02

Heat is the enemy down here

Volatility — how readily oil boils off under heat — is what leaves deposits and thickens what remains. AMSOIL publishes a 2X volatility improvement over the API SQ limit on the Noack test, and on the Gulf Coast that margin matters more than it does in Minnesota.

03

Water gets in. Plan for it.

In marine service the question is not whether moisture reaches the oil, it is whether the oil keeps working when it does. AMSOIL publishes gear-lube protection at 15% water contamination, which is the single most relevant number on this site.

04

The additive package does the hard work

Base oil sets the ceiling; additives determine wear protection, detergency and corrosion control. AMSOIL formulates its own additive systems rather than buying an off-the-shelf package, and publishes third-party-standard test results against them.

05

One catalog covers the whole garage

Boat, tow vehicle, side-by-side, mower, generator and motorcycle all draw from the same product line, which means one order, one shipment and one person to ask.

06

Sold through independent Dealers by design

AMSOIL has distributed through independent Dealers since 1973 rather than big-box shelves. That is why you get a phone number instead of an aisle number.

Where we work

The coast isn't one climate.

A slip-kept cruiser in Clear Lake and an offshore rig running out of Port A have different problems. Local notes for the places these engines actually live — and orders ship anywhere in the USA and Canada regardless.

Not sure what you need?

Tell me the engine. I'll tell you the oil.

Send the make, model and year of your outboard, truck or equipment — plus how you actually use it — and you will get a specific product recommendation with the AMSOIL part numbers, not a link to a catalog. No obligation, and no sales pressure afterward.
